1. What can I
expect when I call the aTLC WarmLine?
Our mentors will listen
compassionately to your parenting concerns, help you identify what is
working well and what you want to change, and support you with appropriate
information. They may direct you to other services that may be of help, such
as teleclasses, articles, book, websites, and other professional services if
your concern is outside the scope of our services.
Whether you want information, insight, or just an empathetic ear, your
concerns are treated respectfully and confidentially. Note: we do not offer
therapy, treatment, or medical/psychological advice.

2. How do I
connect with a WarmLine mentor?
You can call our automated toll-free
WarmLine appointment number
888-574-7580, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
where you will be asked to leave a brief description of your concern and two
or three convenient times for a mentor to call you back within the following
24-48 hours. After the initial session, if you choose, you can schedule
another, or a series of ongoing sessions. The time, duration, and frequency
of these calls will be negotiated between you and the mentor.

3. What are the costs of the call?
Your first
10 minutes with the mentor are free. This complimentary period gives you a
chance to get acquainted, share your concerns, and determine how we can best
support you.
After the initial 10 minutes, the cost
for the WarmLine mentoring service is $1 to $2 per minute, depending on your
ability to pay. At that time, your mentor will request a credit card number
or alternatively, you may schedule the remainder of your session for a later
date, allowing time to pre-pay by check, PayPal, or Western Union.
You may
choose to be updated on the number of minutes elapsed at regular
intervals--for example every 20, or 30 minutes. You, together with your
mentor, determine the length of time you want to use. You can end the call
at any time.

4. What can I do to prepare for
the call?
Your time on the call is best used
when you spend a few minutes to prepare for the call. We suggest you
consider and, perhaps, write down:
·
What kind of support do you want from your session? Do you
primarily want someone to just listen, or to give you information, or to
brainstorm with you?
·
What is happening that has prompted you to seek support
now?
·
When did it start?
·
Is there anything you are aware of that it may be related
to?
·
What solutions have you already tried?
·
What has helped or not helped?

5.
Do
I have to fill out the online registration form?
No, it is not required. You can just
give the mentor your contact details on the phone. The advantage of your
filling in the
form online is that it will give you and
your mentor more time to discuss how we can support you.
6. What about
confidentiality?
Your personal information--name and
address--is completely confidential. Statistics may be collected to guide us
in improving our services and to help us qualify for grants, but they will
not include the identities of the people's information that is used.
Please note: This is a pilot program. You will be asked at the end of
the session if you are willing to talk with our program evaluator.
Your feedback/comments would be invaluable in helping us improve our
service. We'd also like to know if you have suggestions for improving our
website.
